April Meeting

April Meeting

One of the boys in my class went on the KSE site and printed off ECO coupons for the children to clean their desks and recycle.  He will present them on Tuesday.  They also voted to decorate the switch plates as gifts for their moms on Mother’s Day.  Here are this week’s minutes:

Kids for Saving Earth-Shreya was our leader.  She guided us through the KSE promise and then helped us add up our treasury.  We had a balance of $15.  Thomas donated $1.50 he earned by cleaning and doing laundry.  Teddy donated $4.01.  Emily searched her entire house for change and came up with $11.10. Our total treasury was $31.61.  The children nominated cheetahs, snakes, and wild horses for sponsorship.  They also nominated chipmunks. I told the children it might be difficult to find an organization that protects chipmunks.  They decided on cheetahs, but settled for jaguars so they could get the stuffed animal with their $25 sponsorship. Animal reports this week: Evan, Dylan, Ryland, and Thomas did reports on Gorillas and Mountain Lions.  We learned that mountain lions, pumas, and cougars are the names for the same animal.  Cody and Masen taught us about Cheetahs.  Skylin did her report on tigers.  Abby and Aelyse taught us about dolphins.  Our next meeting will be April 12th.
