The Kids for Saving Earth E-Pal News
Dear Earth-protecting friends,
I want to begin this E-Pal News with a big “Thank You” for taking on the intense and sometimes difficult job of educating children. You are “Awesome”, and I hope you will enjoy this new year.
Thanks as well for fitting the environment into your curriculum. We try to create educational materials that will work easily into your daily routine and fulfill some of your curriculum requirements.
Let’s start out with our new Kids for Saving Earth Conserving Calendar. On this calendar, every month you will find Eco Activities that will truly help the Earth but won’t take much time. Click on the link and up will come printable directions for simple activities that kids can take home to do easily with their parents. Many of these activities can be done in your school as well. For example, Pack a Green Lunch Day. On Fridays you will also find Earth-saving activities you can do with the kids. In addition the calendar contains many links to special environmental days. This calendar will be sent to you monthly and will make it very easy for you to include environmental education into your classroom.
Another important action I would like you to take to protect the health of your students, your staff and the Earth, is to learn about the KSE No Idling program. Exhaust from vehicles idling near your school can cause health problems in addition to warming the Earth and wasting oil and money. Find out how you can launch this effort.
