Eastern Middle School

I am the art teacher for Eastern Middle School. My sixth grade students have been learning about a contemporary artist, Keith Haring. Haring was known for his cartoon-like figures, energetic lines, and symbols. He was known for his public art which commented on society. After I introduced Haring, my students and I discussed modern social concerns. My students independently selected a concern that they felt was important. My students worked hard on their illustrations in the style of Haring.
